We are excited to announce the return of the Calgary Nativity in 2024 for its 60th year! We invite anyone and everyone to come and participate in this interfaith commemoration of the events surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ.

The production will take place outdoors from December 20–22 at the Bow Valley Building, at 2526 – 24 Ave NW, Calgary, Alberta.

We need your help with the operational tasks for the Calgary Nativity this year!

Available volunteer opportunities include tasks such as:

– Set up and Takedown of the Nativity site

– Parking traffic control

– Event Ushering & Audience Management

Who We Are

The Calgary Nativity is a gift to the community. This production is made possible thanks to volunteers from the Calgary interfaith community and is our Christmas gift to you. It operates from Friday, December 20, to Sunday, December 22, 2024.

There are five outdoor performances every evening from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The last performance is at 8:00 pm.

Please dress for the weather. Admission is free. No ticket is required.

The performance is outdoors at the Bow Valley Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 2526 24th Ave NW, Calgary, Alberta.

Free parking is at the University of Calgary parking lot L32.

What is the cost to attend this event?

The Calgary Nativity is a free event. There is no cost to attend and no ticket is required.

Where should I park my vehicle to attend the event?

Free parking is provided at the University of Calgary parking lot L32.

There is accessible parking (with a valid permit) also available directly at the venue; identify yourself with the onsite parking personnel with your permit visible.

Where is this event happening? Will it be at Heritage Park?

No. We are excited to share that we have a new venue since 2023 for The Calgary Nativity.

Is this an indoor or outdoor event?

The event is 100% outdoors. Please dress for the weather.

How long is the performance?

The production is about 20 minutes in duration. There are five (5) outdoor performances each evening (starting every 30 minutes) from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The last performance is at 8:00 pm.

How go I get involved?

We would love to have you get involved! We have our cast for the 2024 season, but we need many other types of volunteers to make this production successful—we have a spot for you! To get involved, please fill out our volunteer survey form and tell us how you would like to help.

Light the World is a world-wide campaign designed to spread the light of Jesus Christ to everyone. This year for #LightTheWorld, focus on sharing kindness, just like Jesus did. Throughout December, look for ways to bring joy to someone new each day. The third annual season of the Giving Machine will be available at Southcentre Mall starting in December 6, 2024, until December 29, 2024. Give clean water, goats, meals, toys, and more to those in need through a unique giving experience. Your donations go directly to global and local charities to help change lives around the world.
